Finally Feels Like Spring

I’ve been trying to spend more time outside lately, but it’s been hard with the unseasonably cold weather. On Wednesday, I went on a 4-mile walk out on some minimum-maintenance roads near my parents’ farm.

A fitness app screenshot displays details of an outdoor walk, including 570 active calories burned and a distance of 4.02 miles, with a square route shown on a map.

It felt wonderful, and I wanted to do it again, but then there were crazy winds and lots of blowing dust, forcing me to stay inside. Now today we finally have blue skies, and the leaves are really coming out on the trees.

A driveway leads to a small white building and a parked red car, with an American flag flying nearby and bare trees in the background under a dusty sky.

Grateful Thursday

Spending a good portion of my day home alone with my daughter, and even though she can’t “talk” I have to say she’s a great conversationalist. She took a nap, which allowed me time to fit in a 20 minute meditation while feeling the sun shine on my face. Hard to ask for much better than this.

Just finished reading: The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman 📚 Hard to believe this is my first Arthurian book, but I really enjoyed it! I’ve been a big fan of Grossman’s work.

Updating my resume for the first time in years. I’m sitting in front of a space heater, adjusting to life away from the desert, and preparing for upcoming changes after moving back to the Midwest.
